GREEN FREEQ AWARD
THE AWARD.
JMI's Green Freeq Music Award (previously the Greenote Award) was created to spotlight young musicians using their songs to raise awareness about environmental challenges and climate change.
The aim of the award is to celebrate artists who use the power of music to raise awareness, inspire reflection and encourage positive action for our planet, while building a network of environmentally conscious musicians who inspire, connect and engage communities through music.
Music has the power to reach people in ways that statistics and reports cannot. Through songs, artists can raise global awareness around some of the most important issues affecting our climate and environment, helping us connect with global challenges and take action together.
On top of the recognition, winners (young artists under 30) of the JMI Green Freeq Music Award will also receive a €1,000 cash prize to support their music and environmental efforts, as well as a joint media campaign to increase the song's visibility and reach.
The award is based on three criteria: musical quality, environmental relevance and impact.
