THE PLANET!
The JMI Green FreeQ Music Award recognises young musicians who use music to raise awareness of the biggest environmental challenges affecting our planet. Now in its second year, the award celebrates our connection to the planet and to each other, honouring and supporting artists whose songs address environmental issues and inspire awareness and positive change.
If you’re a young musician with a song that raises awareness about an environmental challenge, we’d love to hear it! Enter before 1 October, 2026.


How to
Apply.
Young musicians under 30 who use music to raise awareness about environmental challenges, inspire climate action, and contribute to positive change.
Entries should focus on songs that address environmental issues and raise awareness through music.
Application Guidelines

Applicants must clearly demonstrate how they are using the power of music to raise awareness around important environmental challenges.

Please submit a video of yourself explaining your song, along with a song description, supporting pictures, music and video.

For songs, please must submit English translations (for songs not in English).

Musicians must be between 18–30 years of age.

Deadline: 1 October, 2026.
Selection Criteria
We use the following judging criteria:

Musical Quality (10 points)
Does the song demonstrate strong artistic merit, musical quality, and creativity? -
Environmental Relevance (10 Points)
How effectively does the song raise awareness about climate change, sustainability, or environmental protection? -
Impact (5 points)
Has the song created a meaningful impact, or does it show strong potential to influence and inspire others?
What can you win?
On top of the recognition of your work by a global music network, winners will receive a €1,000 cash prize to support their environmental efforts, as well as a joint media campaign to give your song the visibility it deserves.
